Short Film

The ideology of traditional masculinity that contemporary Chinese society celebrates has caused severe pressure and persecution on the LGBTQ community. I fight against the current status quo of discrimination against marginal masculinity in society by researching real bullying incidents in schools caused by different gender ideologies. Combining the experiences of myself and the interviewees who were bullied because of our femininity when we were young, I created the short film to give a voice to the minority of boys with a marginal temperament, this verbal and mental abuse imprinted on us for life, especially at a time when the whole country rejects us.

当下中国主流社会所崇尚的男子气概对LGBTQ群体造成了严重的压力和迫害。我通过研究不同性别意识形态引起的校园霸凌事件，尝试对抗目前社会上对边缘男子气概的歧视。结合自己和被采访者因我们年轻时自然表现出的女性气质而被欺负的经历，我创作了这个短片为少数具有边缘气质的男孩发声，尤其是在整个社会都排斥我们的时候，这种言语和精神的霸凌在我们身上留下了一生的烙印。
